Ex-NIGHTWISH Singer FLOOR JANSEN Releases New Solo Single 'Everything Is Moving On' From Upcoming 'Hytress' Album
October 23, 2026Symphonic metal vocalist powerhouse Floor Jansen has released her brand new single "Everything Is Moving On" today via REVAMP Music/Warner Music. The track serves as the third single from her highly anticipated upcoming studio album, "Hytress", set for release on January 15, 2027. Centered on a simple but urgent idea, the song delivers a powerful message: life is happening right now.
At its heart, "Everything Is Moving On" is about time, change and the choices we make while life keeps moving around us. It is a reminder not to keep postponing what matters, but to be present, take chances, and recognize when it is time to move forward.
On the topic of the new single, Floor comments: "For me, this song is about being awake to the life you have now. We so easily tell ourselves we'll do something later, but life keeps moving. Enjoy it, take the chances that matter to you, and make choices that feel right for who you are and where you want to go. Sometimes that also means letting go of things that no longer feel right. Those choices aren't always easy. You can be grateful for everything that brought you to where you are, and still recognize when something no longer fits who you are now, or who you want to be. Every experience and every person leaves something with you. Moving on doesn't erase that; you take it with you into whatever comes next."
That sense of urgency runs directly through the song's lyrics: "Time, your life is now. Your dreams will not be waiting to come true somehow. Grow, no time to waste. Know that we're forever fading." But the song also makes room for stillness: "Let us slow down fast. Take that breath and last. To know where you are today."
That contrast sits at the heart of "Everything Is Moving On": life moves fast, so be present for it.

Following the success of her debut solo album "Paragon" and the preceding singles "Run", "Bring Me Silence" and "Everything Is Moving On", Jansen steps further into this new era with strong international momentum. Her solo catalog has accumulated nearly 150 million streams, alongside 600,000 Instagram followers. Known as one of the most versatile and commanding voices in modern rock and metal, Jansen recently expanded her live presence with main stage performances at Wacken Open Air, Masters Of Rock and Sweden Rock.
The upcoming album "Hytress" does not look back for the sake of nostalgia, but rather takes the weight of her past and moves it forward into something sharper, heavier, and unmistakably her own. Musically, "Everything Is Moving On" adds an uplifting sense of momentum to the album — continuing its powerful, vocal-led foundation while leaving ample space for melody, contrast, and emotional openness.

Earlier this month, Floor announced her exit from Finnish symphonic metal masters NIGHTWISH after a 14-year run with the band.
When NIGHTWISH announced the split with Jansen on October 15, the band called the decision "necessary and important to us and our future ambitions." The group added that "NIGHTWISH will continue" and "enter the studio in 2027 to record a new album."
In November 2022, Floor revealed that she was "cancer free" after undergoing surgery to have a tumor removed following a breast cancer diagnosis.
In October 2023, Floor and SABATON drummer Hannes Van Dahl welcomed their second child, a daughter named Lucy. Jansen and Van Dahl also have a nine-year-old daughter named Freja, who was born in March 2017.
In April 2023, NIGHTWISH surprised fans by announcing that the band was not going to be playing any live shows for the foreseeable future and would be not be touring in support of the group's latest studio album, "Yesterwynde", which came out in September 2024 via Nuclear Blast.
Born in the Netherlands, Jansen joined her first band, one of the world's first symphonic metal bands, AFTER FOREVER, when she was only 16 years old. The group went on to release five albums from 2000 to 2007, before they broke up in 2009.
Jansen's next band, REVAMP, released two albums in 2010 and 2013, before she joined NIGHTWISH as a full-time member. NIGHTWISH's first album with Jansen as the lead singer was 2015's "Endless Forms Most Beautiful", which landed in Top 10s around the world. This was followed by 2020's "Human. :II: Nature." , which was also an international success.
Jansen has toured extensively with the band and appeared on three of NIGHTWISH's live albums "Showtime, Storytime", "Vehicle Of Spirit" and "Decades: Live In Buenos Aires".
In 2019, Jansen participated in the popular Dutch TV show "Beste Zangers" where she scored a big hit with "Phantom Of The Opera" together with Henk Poort. She was recognized with a Dutch Popprijs award — a prestigious accolade for artists that has made important contributions to Dutch music. In the same year, her first solo tour sold out in less than 24 hours.
Jansen performed live with NIGHTWISH for the first time on October 1, 2012 at Showbox Sodo in Seattle, Washington following the abrupt departure of the band's lead singer of five years, Anette Olzon. Jansen officially joined NIGHTWISH in 2013.
